20/20 INSIGHT: 62ND ANNUAL PERMIAN BASIN JURIED ART EXHIBITION (May 28 - Aug 9, 2020)

My work Tabernakel, 2020 will be part of the 62nd Annual Permian Basin Juried Art Exhibition, hosted by the Ellen Noël Art Museum in partnership with the Odessa Art Association. The museum aims to highlight the talent of artists in and around the West Texas region. For 2020’s exhibition, artists are encouraged to explore the theme 20/20 INSIGHT. Due to COVID-19 and the safety of participants/staff, the juried exhibition will be moved to a digital exhibition. Works will still be judged. The digital exhibition and winners will be posted on our website and Facebook on May 28 at 6pm. Awards will be mailed to the winner’s address they provided. Works with the most likes on Facebook by Aug 9 at 5pm will be mailed People’s Choice Awards. Juror of the exhibition is Georgina Ngozi, Executive Director, Greater Denton Arts Council. Georgina Ngozi has worked across the country, in the field of arts education and administration for more than 25 years. A former member of the board of directors of the Association of Children’s Museums, Georgina is active in the broader arts and museum communities. She has served as a grant reviewer for the National Endowment for the Arts and the Institute for Museum and Library Services, and other organizations.

Ellen Noël Art Museum opens 61st Annual Permian Basin Juried Art ExhibitionODESSA, Texas — The Ellen Noël Art Museum is opening its 61st Annual Permian Basin Juried Art Exhibition on May 9. This year's theme is "Out of Place". The exhibit will also serve as a solo show for artist Nick Bascus, 2018's best in show winner. The Juried Art Exhibition hopes to highlight artists in and around West Texas. This year will be juried by Tina Fuentes, a professor at Texas Tech University. An award ceremony and opening reception will take place at 6:30 p.m. on May 9. Attendees will be able to meet the artists, vote on their favorite pieces and enjoy light hors d'oeuvres.
